The Christ Child, Mary and Joseph appear in two ma- gnificent hands symbolizing God’s hands.
These two hands are protective and at the same time expression of God’s offering ; a reminder that the family is actually a sacred offering, came out from the hands of God.
The middle of the sculpture, from top to bottom, is crossed by a veil like a divine breath. At the heart of this veil appears the Christ Child, his feet are like a source, making spread the water under this veil. This expresses that water is the source of life and invigorates the spirit.
Above Jesus, the movement of this veil becomes ascen- dant, expressing the transcendence.
The purity and devotion on Mary’s face and his eyes raised to heaven reveal that the love of the Holy Virgin for her son Jesus is the Love in God.
This is reinforced by the attitude of his hand and that of Saint Joseph. At the same time, both are trying to sup- port and protect the first step of Jesus.
A deep kindness and tenderness emanate from Joseph’s face.
The composition of this work is centered on the Christ Child with his arms wide open, as to embrace huma- nity in which he identifies since its birth.
